Parents are encouraged to reach out with any health questions or concerns.
When To Keep Your Child Home
Please keep your child home if they have:
- a fever of 100.4F or higher
- are vomiting or have had diarrhea within the past 24 hours
- have a persistent cough or difficulty breathing
- have contagious infections (Strep throat, pink eye, Flu, Covid-19, etc).
- have an uncontrolled rash or unknown skin condition.
Students may return to school once they are fever-free for 24 hours without medication and symptoms have improved.
Cleared by a healthcare provider, if needed.
Healthy Habits for Students
- Students are reminded to drink water regularly
- Wash hands frequently with soap and water.
- Get 8-10 hours of sleep.
- Manage screen time.
- Take medications as prescribed.
Medications at School
All medications (prescription or OTC) are kept in the health office.
A medication authorization form signed by the parent/guardian or healthcare provider is required.
Students may carry inhalers/EpiPens if permitted and approved by the health care provider.

- Depending on public health guidance
- Protocols for positive tests
- Quarantine/return-to-school rules
- Notification procedures
Required Health Forms
Please submit:
- updated forms at the start of each school year:
- a Physical Examination form (for students with health conditions)
- Action plans (Asthma, Allergy, seizure and Diabetic 504 (if applicable).
- Immunization records.
Forms can be picked up at the school Health office.
Health Tips for Families
Parent/guardian must:
- Encourage regular sleep routines
- Promote good hygiene
- Keep children home when sick
- Keep up-to-date phone numbers on file at the school
- Keep emergency contacts current
- Update the nurse with any medical information changes.
Managing iIlnesses at School
The nurse::
- provides first aid
- provides chronic condition support
- may send a student home if symptoms get worse or suggest illness
- provides emergency response
- provides health counseling
